- Foreshadowing is a technique authors use to build suspense. Point out several places where the author uses this technique to hint at future events. Is the clue so obvious it makes you realize what is going to happen, or does it make you curious?
- You've been hired to write an add to promote the movie version of this book. Make sure it conveys teh main charactesr, and what he or she discovers about himself or herself or about others

My movie will be a sad movie because of the Title and my movie will be about a boy that is from Phila and never had no fights or never been picked on and One day He has to move and he HAs to move to California and he gets Bully.

He told her that it was just a group with him,Len,Carla and two other people they know.Then shes asks Cameron if he wanted to be a part of something?And then they talk about going to the shooting range.
ReplyDeleteI one part in my book, the preacher went to Michigan to free Mr Leroy's family from slavery. But the preacher in this book is the mysterious type of character, so I knew that he would take the money on the middle of his trip to Michigan and gamble it all. If that happened, I knew that the main character Elijah would have to hunt down the preacher with Mr. Leroy.
ReplyDeleteThe book I was reading talked somewhat about takeing chatge. The people living in the Districts were very unhappy with their goverment. So what I learned was that if you are unhappy with something or dont feel that it is right then speak up. Don't just sit in the back and contemplete wether to say something or not. Just say it.

In my book, foreshadowing was used heavily. Right at the begining, the author hints with the name of the store, Needful Things. He also shows the villian of the story with descriptions of the main antagonist, saying his facial features were almost not human and his eyes looked like they had fire in them. He also hints the type of items the characters will buy, saying Polly would "give anything" to get rid of her arthritis pains.

Leah has everything going for her this soccer saeson until she finds out her dad has cancer. Along the way her relationship with her best friend Clay and her love for soccer go down the drain. But as the story proggresses she realizes she needs both Clay and soccer how will it end? COMING TO THETRES IN SELECT AREAS.
ReplyDeleteForeshadows that were mentioned in Feed was the times when Violet told Titus that there was something that might possibly be life threatening with her feed. Then violet goes on to mention that at times, she is unable to move parts of her body such as her arm or leg...soon after, Violet and Titus go to the mall and in order to confuse her feed and the goverment, they go through every store and look at randomn items they would never ever buy so that the feed is confused about trying to get Violet to buy certain items since it is constantly trying to conform to your personal need. Another foreshadow is when Violet tells Titus that her father cant afford to fix her feed so they try and start a petition.:(
ReplyDeleteReading my book "Skinny" it made me want to make differences in this world. What i would want to improve is to make both girls and guys who think they don't look to make them appreciate themselves. I would not want people to be like Giselle in my book. Giselle she is very uncomfortable with herself and she stops eating which makes her lose a lot of weight which makes her anorexic. I would want to change people who are leading them selves into being anorexic and make them happy with the way they look. Honestly these days people are abusing their bodies such as bulimic girls who just throw up their food. This is the reality and i would wanna change this by people talking to these teenagers who feel uncomfortable about themselves and make them happy with they way they are.

Reeves shield Mrs. Mr. Johnson. Janie is a sixteen year old girl who battle everyday life as normal teenager like boys and school friend. Well as normal day like she wake upgets ready and got to school.As she at lunch she discover something astonishing she might have been kidnapped.Reeves is the hot senior that is secertly dating janie .His huge fear is that he might not pass his senior year and that he might not be able to talk to janie MR and Mrs johnson are janie (parents) or are they her grandpents. As the day goes on they keep the truth from her . Then they decide to tell her the truth or that want you to believe and tell that her mother name is hanah and she in the cult and it was the duty to protect her and she believes them or them believe differnt AS you read this book you will love you won;t be able to put down. Face on the milk on the cartoon buy it you won't regert it.
ReplyDeleteSome of the events that are foreshadowed are things like it said the main character and her best friend have the same eye color and hair color so later on it explains why. The main character also found a doll from her father and it was hidden and didn't have her dad's handwriting so she doesnt think he is her real dad.Her parents lie about her not having a birth certificate but she finds it and it says father UNKNOWN. Everyone tells her she looks just like her mom but she looks nothing like her dad.
ReplyDeleteIn the book called ''Way Down Deep'' the author does use foreshodowing to build suspense. For example; in the begining of the book Ruby was left all by her self when she was left alone in the dark because this makes me curious what's going to happen next in the story or book...Another forshadowing would be when Ruby met her Grandmother and she realizes she doesn't like her grandmother knowing that that her only real family member that's still living ... this would be a foreshadow because this causes alot of problems between Ruby and her Grandmother but eventually Ruby helps her grandmother out. I hope that's enough forshadowing..............................

In this movie he discovers about himself that he is a consumate survivor and is not easily down-trodden. He manages to survive where others would have rolled over and given in.

It is called Schooled by Jordan Gorham.This books main charactor is Cap Anderson who is a hippie that grew up on a farm from all civilization.He has grown in the beginning of the story thinking outside his farm was a hole nother planet.But he found that really it is not so bad in the outside world. When he gets taking away from the new world and back to the farm he finds he doesn't want to leave.

First, they said that Arnold had seen the most beautiful girl in his life, which eventually came out to be that they started dating, which made Arnold become more popular in his school. The author also foreshadowed about his sister. In one of Arnolds cartoons, he ends up showing his sister in the arms of her husband, and later in the story, Arnold shows his dead sister in the arms of her dead husband. This gave me a thought about what would happen to his sister when she ran away with the man to go to Montana. My book really made me think.

ReplyDeleteWhen Paul suddenly became interested in Julie, I knew that it was foreshadowing about Paul only being interested in Julie's special ability. One foreshadow that made curious was when it hinted that Paul had some big plan in store with Julie and it made me wonder what his intentions were.
ReplyDeleteYes this story did make me want t stand up and do something to the world/country.When i had found out that Mitty had been kidnapped and was being abbused in the kidnappers basement, it made me want to report these kinds of things to the police or government to tell people to be more cautiose while they are out on the streets, and to make cops better at there jobs in finding kidnapped citizens to keep people safe.

The main charcters are Annie, Max, Annies grandpa, and Annie's mom and dad.Annie and Max have been good friends for a long time now and Annie starts having deeper feelings for Max. So when Max is upset because he can not afford to get running shoes for he's 1st track meet Annie secertly gives him an evolope with enough money to buy himself a pair of new shoes.Also Annies grandpa hasn't been doing so well and Annies mom is haveing a baby so Annie has alot of things happening to her.
ReplyDeleteIf I've been hired to write the movie version of this book i would say that the main character is Asa. He discovered about his mom that she wants to get back togrther with his dad. He also discovered something about his step-dad Dave that he has developed feelings for Asa. Asa was surprised when he found out that Dave had developed feelings for him because in the beginning of Asa's mom and Daves marriage, Dave didn't really do anything with or for him.
ReplyDeleteHow I think the author, Susan Flettcher, foreshadowed in this story was the event that lead Kealdra, the main character, to a place that was opposite of what she was looking for. For example, a kestrel bird's call is supposed to be leading Kealdra and the young draclings to place that is safe from dragon hunters/slayers,but her promblems get worse. She is led to a barn and hides the draclings in a shed, when they are found one of them, Pyro, is attacked by a dog and gets an awful scar on his back. The kestrel also led them to a salesman who hunts dragons.
ReplyDeleteIn this story it also says that Kealdra saw the wild eyes of Eymbr, another one of the draclings, and saw that she was no longer the shy little dragon baby she used to see in her; this indicated that Eymbr may not be under her control as she was defending her brother.
I would suggest an ad with apicture of the cover of the book, with the description, " Seph McCauley is a young wizard, completely untrained, uneducated, and untested he stumbles upon a remarkable chance to learn. However he learns not to trust anything, and to expect the worst at all times. When he begins a quest for revenge, he learns not everyone is who he thinks they are, and suprises often come from nowhere"

ReplyDeleteI think maybe the conversations might have been different like because it started when he was a little boy.For example he said that he cried home til he saw his dad and how do you know that maybe he herd some of it and made the rest up like i think that when he said Roberto work for a penny each day for a new baseball or a new bike i could believe that and when he had gotten car jacked i could believe that conversation for the most part execpt when they stopped and gave him the food back and said sorry .It made me want to take action because its hispanic month and he was puerto rican and so am I.thought about what i could do so I walked in the Puerto Rican day parade in Wilmington,DE.
ReplyDelete"Run, Boy, Run" by Uri Orlev. Throughout my book there is not much foreshadowing. However, suspense plays an important role in this novel. During the beginning of the book, the point of view changes from one person to another which creates great confusion as well as great suspense. It really makes you wonder, whats going to happen to this person? Or where is this person now? Another section in the story hints that Srulik's parents are dead. The author hints various times about the death of Srulik's parents, it doesn't make you realize what's going to happen, but it builds great suspense and intensity

The forshawdowing in my book Rules of Survival is hard to pick up on because one its hard and I cant look back and see if there are any clues because im not finshed my book yet. But it does make me curiuse and still make me want to read it.
ReplyDeleteMy dog song has a lot of forshadowing in it. I really cant tell if it is or not at first but when it comes i remember what it said be for and I realized that i missed it. It makes me really ceruis at first but once I under stand it, it is not the cofusing

ReplyDeleteI haven't noticed many foreshadows in my story. My story is harder to find foreshadows because one of the main characters can "read" people's minds. He also says what the people are thinking alot through the story.

ReplyDeleteForeshadowing was a rare feature included into the story. Whenever something was hinted to, it made you feel too late though. Somewhere in the middle chapters, the story goes on about the Halocaust which reminded me of our young hero's prediciment. More specifically though, it gathered slowly around certain tortures or ways to kill as the villian started using such evils as well. For example, a "Gas Chamber" was used several times in the biography after introducing the Halocaust.
