1. The main character is moving to your town. Will he or she fit in? Why or why not? How are his or her values and tastes different from -or the same as- those of your hometown?

2. Please respond to a fellow classmate from Thursday night, or from one of their blogs from last week.

  1. If the main character moved into town, I think they would fit in. In my book, the main charaters get stuck in 1899 and they always talk about the things that they miss aback in the present. They talk about things like KFC, their cell phones, going to the mall, etc., the usual topics us teens talk about. As you can see, they have the same values as we modern people do. I agree with Caila that the things in life that you should cherish in life are your friends and family because without them, you would be lonely and depressed. Without anyone to be there in your life, you would feel useless in life.

  2. The main character probally would fit in because she is really outgoing and good at making friends. Alot of kids here are outgoing so she would have something in common with us. Some of her values are the same as us like wanting to be close to friends and being near the person that you like. Some are different though because she is a guardian and they are always taught to put others first but alot of kids now only put themself first. Some of her tastes are also the same as well as some are different. Like her taste in food is the same, she still likes junk food and pizza and things like that. But her taste in clothing is different because she likes more of the black stuff were as alot of kids here wear more preppy stuff and designer clothes.

  3. If Martin[main character] came to my town no I do not think he would fit in because exsepacially at school because if he's disrespestful and rude to the teacher's, I don't think that he's going to get that far besides going to a bunch of detentions. If Martin lived in Royal Grant and he say's the wrong thing to a person he would most likely get beat up , probabaly by a highschooler because Martin can sure no how to start a fight by saying some rude things.I don't see any comments from Thursday's night or last weeks to respond to a fellow classmate...so I guess I'm done...

  5. No if the character Lucy moved to my town she would not fit in. This is because even though she is like most teenagers happy and smart and everything she ahs a curse put upon her. Also, she ahs a crazy mother and people wuld make fun of her for that. Moreover she would not fit in because she is pregnant at 16 and people would make rude comments about that. A main reason she would not fit in is beacuse of the curse. People would think she is crazy that there is no curse put upon her to do the three impossible tasks before the baby is born otherwise she will go crazy like her mom. Over in my town stuff like that does not happen. Her values are the same as the people in my town because they all care for their families and friends like Lucy and also like Lucy the people who have boyfriends or loved ones are in love with them. Lucy is also really a average teenager besides the whole curse. i disagree with cassidy ramsey because i feel like the things we cherish make us who we are not a better person. I mean people could like being mean to people and thats not going to make them a better person but rather that would make them not as noble as a person.

  6. The main character will not fit in because where he is use to a bunch of cars going down the road, but we have tractors on our roads.

I will comment on Allie's. It sounds like a really good book. Just keep me updated because when you are done I might just want to read it.

  7. The main character in my book, Satia, would not fit in if she moved to my town would because it is not a city. She would be very conspicuos. In the story, in her hometown, she likes to climb buildings and explore alone at night;in a city enviroment she would would look strange climbing on buildings.

She values somewhat of a jungle enviroment but my town has buildings and not as many trees as the jungle environment to climb on or hide in; just open fields and roads. She would not be happy in the environment in which I live.
