Historical Fiction-Tuesday, November 3, 2009

1. The main character is moving to your town. Will he or she fit in? Why or why not? How are his or her values and tastes different from -or the same as- those of your hometown?

2. Please respond to a fellow classmate from Thursday night, or from one of their blogs from last week.

  1. In my opinion, Matilda would probably fit in because shes very opinionated and strong willed and that is a quality thats not too uncommon around here. Also, Matilda is hard working for her age and so are we as a town so i dont see how she wouldnt fit in. The only thing that i would worry about is her time era. She lives in colonial Pennsylvania and they are poor where she lives so the only requirment she wouldnt meet would be her clothing. Matilda cares about her family and friends just like us so she would definetly fit in quite well.

  2. The main character of my book would not fit in if he moved to my town. His tastes are different from my families because we are very laid back people and we don't yell or boss each other around.

  3. If the main character were moving to my town, I don't think he would fit in because he is a thief when he needs to be and he hates a lot of people because they have more money than him, and he culd end up getting arrested a lot for assault.
And for last weeks blog, Iagree with Sam about free time. It is good to have and it helps to relax you.

  4. Daniel's Story is my book. The main character is Daniel. If he moved to our town me may fit it. I don't understand why he wouldn't. The only main difference is he is Jewish and not many people I know around here are. So if kids really don't like his culture than they might not let him fit in. Also he does have high anger management issues which come into affect when people mock him...Our towns values and his towns values are basically the same. Everyone knows each other, he lives in a neighborhood, and goes to school just like all of us...(no comments to comment on) :(

  5. My main character would not fit in at all. He's too moral. Doesn't strive for much. Also he's from the 1930s, and would be expecting a totally different time, and a different type of community. Pssh, you hear old people talk about it all the time. They always say things like "I used to be able to ride for miles..." or "leaving doors unlocked, and windows open...".

Edit- Why hasn't the blog been working?
