1. The main character is moving to your town. Will he or she fit in? Why or why not? How are his or her values and tastes different from -or the same as- those of your hometown?
2. Please respond to a fellow classmate from Thursday night, or from one of their blogs from last week.

If the main character moved to our town, she would fit in...with the wrong crowd. She's a druggie and slacks in school, so the teachers wouldn't like her too much. All she cares about is getting high, so she's not much fun. Then she gets pregnant, and that would set her out from the rest of us. I know none of my friends could even fathom the idea of having a child at our age, but some high-schoolers may say differently. So perhaps she would fit in with the "bad" or "troubled" kids, but not with the "hip and happenin'" crowd.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what to say about the other blogs I've commented on all the good ones already...
If a The main Charactor from my book, Simon, moved here i think that he would fit in fine. Simon is a regular everyday teacher. There is nothing reallly special about him, so he would not have any problomes fitting in.
ReplyDeleteMaybe because he first of all cannot interact with people in any way, but if he could talk then yes because he is just like any other 14 year old.
ReplyDeleteJackie probably would fit in because she isn't really picky of her food, nothing really has to be fancy or anything, so I think she wouldn't go waltzing around with a fancy silk dress.
ReplyDeleteThe main characters in my book are Chelle, Ryan, and Josh, and if they were to come to my hometown, i would have to say that they wouldn't fit in because we arent pushovers. We would have known that there was something up with their powers and as parents we would have been more concerned with what our children were up to. These characters are really into spying on people and plotting plans to destroy the curse that they are under and our values are to be friendly to people and make sure that our towns, government, and communities run smoothly. Our values are very diffrent from the characters in my book. i would have responded to other blogs but thier are none posted.
ReplyDeletemy book is "dreamland" by sarah dessen.
ReplyDeleteIf my main charecter Caitlin moved to my town, she would fit in, in the beginning, but when she meets her boyfriend she would become a pot smoking, freak. her values in the beginning are similar to everyother teenagers, for example; she just wants to fit it. but in the middle/ending, she becomes carless, and has changed so much. for example; she gets kicked off her cheer squad. she would be the one, that is anti-social from the rest of the world other thanbeing with her boyfriend.
Kissing the Rain is no longer my book. It lost my interest. My NEW book is called The Apsolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. If Arnold Spirit Jr. were to move here, I honestly do NOT think he would fit in. He is very nerdy looking and is verrry emotional. People would probably judge him on his looks. I don't know, I just dont think it would work out very well... Since he is an indian, his customs are very different they believe in violence and that it solves things and it really doesn't. He Is also veryyyy poor so he wouldn't have the same stuff as everyon e else not that that should mean anything...

If the main charactor came to our town he would probably fit in ok. I say that because he is some what athletic, and he also is pretty smart so he would beable to make through our high school. His values are spme what the same as are towns because we have s baseball team just like he likes. We also have a decent high school. There is no one i can blog to.
ReplyDeleteHe would'nt fit in because he is a quite guy not very talkative and hes not very popular and no one realy ikes him hes just basicy the nobody of the school and when he finally gets to go home at the end of the day he feels worse cause he finds his favorite dog dead in his room on the floor
ReplyDeleteSo its the 5th and im gonna comment on someones blog. so SETH B;
ReplyDeletei think your charecter woould fit in too, because he does love baseball like a lot of people at our school which would make him make friends with other baseball people, and then he would kinda just fit in with that group of people.
My character,Scott,would not fit in. I think this because he is tramatized from fighting in the war besicides he is from england and doesent have the same customes as us.
ReplyDeleteYes she can because this place is comfortable and if she want's to be alone for a while due to some problems this is the perfect place for her.Her values are somehow different from others i know in a way that she does things that pleases others even though it doesn't please her, for all she knows what she likes no one does.There are no questions or comments to reply to.
