Please answer both of the following questions:
- Describe the setting of your book thus far. Is this a place that made you think, "I've been there," or "I'd love to go there," or "No way would you ever catch me at this place"? Discuss your connections and feelings about the setting, explaining how you relate (or do not relate) to where your story is taking place.
- Think about yesterday's class discussion where we talked about the various properties of specific genres. For example, we said that science fiction books deal with characters who deal with futuristic technology. So far, what characteristics of your book proves to you that it is, in fact, a Non-Fiction novel?
"Anne Frank, a Hidden Life" by Mirjam Pressler. Thus far my book has described in great detail what life was like in the 1940's under Hitler's rule. First off, I would not want to go back in time to a place of hoplessness and devistation. From concentration camps to starvation, you would neve catch me In a place like this. However, the whole concept of the Holocaust brings me to great intersest, but never would I put my self face-to-face with danger.
ReplyDeleteNon-Fiction books always include various facts and quotes from actual people relating to actual events. Also, these include biographies and books written in a first-person point of view. My novel is all about a girl named Anne Frank who is struggling to find freedom within a world of murder. Most of the story is based upon the actual diaries of Anne Frank, which indeed proves this to be a Non-Fiction piece of literature. Furthermore, this book consists of actual dates and events that have been recorded by an actual person in history.
So far my book is extremley intense and I look forward in continuing to follow Anne Frank's life story!
What I think the author is trying to teach me is that all races of species can have peice and that humans are just as clever as dragons, dwarfs, and other mythical creatures. I think this is what the author, Mr. Heniam, was trying to show because throught the story there is alo of betrail and befriending between most of the creatures.
ReplyDeleteWhat made me choose this story was the a part of the book that talked about a bargin with a mysterious old man. I chose it because I wanted to know who the mysterious elder was.
OCtober22nd: my book, Anne Frank a Hidden Life, definanetly caught my attention from the moment i saw it on the Non-Fiction shelf :). As a reader, I absoulutley LOVE reading books about the Holocaust, so i figured Anne Frank-a very famous story behind the Holocaust, would be a great choice. Another part of the book that drew me in was the front cover, which actually shows a picture of Anee Frank herself.
